Tunisia, Go West !!! KEF

Kef, ELKEF is a northwestern city in Tunisia!

  •  175 Kilometres to the West of Tunis,
  • Some 40 kilometers east of the border between Ageria and Tunisia,

It was our second destination of our trip Go West! with ETE+ organization.
We enjoyed it and we learnt a lot from its history and culture.
We started with The Kasbah where we found our local guide Mr Rachid Aloui.

The Kasbah or Qasbah, is a type of medina, (islamic city), It is a forteress.
It has a big historic value, It was built in hiltop of the city. It is the place where leaders were living and a defense when the city was under attack ( Turkish, french, ...).

Then we went to sidi Bou Makhlouf Mosoluim,
The Sidi Bou Makhlouf Mausoleum entombs the patron saint of the city.

After that, we went to the roman ruins "The Basilique", just between the Kasbah and Sidi Bou Mkhlouf.

ELKEF is known by the coexistance of a lt of religions, there you can find Muslim, Christians and Juish.
So tryed to visit Mosques, Synagogue, and Church.
